Dazzle At Our Exclusive Tiffany and Co. Eyewear Open Day

Monday February 12, 2018

Tiffany has always been synonymous with effortless elegance, eternal glamour and absolute luxury.  Over almost two centuries of craftsmanship, the iconic brand has captured our imaginations and dazzled us with jewelled creations fit for A-listers, royalty and the international fashion elite.  And in 2008 the designer turned its attention to eyewear, creating one of the most sought-after collections in the world.

So, to celebrate a decade of eyewear excellence Specs Direct is hosting a glittering Tiffany and Co. eyewear open day on the 17th of February to put the latest collection at your fingertips.

Famed for their awe-inspiring jewellery creations, designer glasses from Tiffany & Co. are similarly crafted to perfection.  The idiosyncratic aqua is seamlessly threaded through the frames, embedded precious jewels catch the light, whilst classic Tiffany iconography – hearts and keys – adorn the temples.  Every pair exudes feminine elegance, and is specifically designed to sit in harmony with your facial features.

But it’s not just the look that makes the Tiffany designer eyewear collection so special.  The frames are meticulously manufactured in Italian workshops and are made with only the finest acetate and precious metals, with the aim of making your glasses as durable as your diamonds.

Tiffany designer eyewear is the next prestigious instalment in the brand’s long history of American craftsmanship.  So where Tiffany’s sparkling heritage begin?

Tiffany Glasses Campaign

Founded in New York City in 1837, Tiffany was the brainchild of Charlie Lewis Tiffany and John B. Young, and began its life as a ‘stationary and fancy goods emporium’ in Lower Manhattan.  But it wasn’t until Charles took control of the firm in 1853 and began to focus on his personal passion for diamonds, that the Tiffany brand began to take hold in the public consciousness.

In 1870, the New York Times proclaimed the Tiffany store to be ‘a palace of jewels’, in 1878 the Paris Exposition recognised the brand with medals for excellence in jewellery and silverware and in 1885 the company was chosen to revise the Great Seal of the USA.  Two years later the company pulled off an audacious purchase of some of the French Crown Jewels and Tiffany shot to international fame.

Following Charles’ death in 1902, his son Louis took over the business and led an era of rapid growth and prosperity for the glittering American brand – with high profile commissions from the White House, European royals and America’s elite families.  Its mystical reputation was cemented further in 1961 with the release of the iconic film Breakfast at Tiffany’s starring Audrey Hepburn.

Today, still maintaining its commitment to absolute luxury, Tiffany boasts almost 300 stores in 22 countries around the globe.  With sought-after ranges of jewellery, china, silverware and stationary under its auspices, Tiffany & Co designer glasses became a reality in 2008.  Growing from the brand’s rich legacy, the eyewear collection incorporates all the luxury and charm we’ve come to expect from Tiffany & Co.
